Close to three million customs declarations were processed in the ten years of existence of the Single Electronic Window (JUE), Director General of Customs Taurai Tsama said in Maputo this Wednesday (15-12) during a seminar on the technological modernization of customs clearance.
Tsama underlined that, ten years after its implementation, close to 4,700 navigation agents, port operators and commercial banks, among others, had interacted with the system.
Tsama said that one of the challenges was for the state to collect revenue from digital commerce.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mozambique Community Network (MCNet), Rogério Samo Gudo, said that the institution would, starting on Wednesday, adjust the Single Electronic Window interface to allow more stakeholders to use the system.
MCNet is a public-private partnership dedicated to providing Mozambique Customs with tools to facilitate trade and improve the business environment, with innovative solutions to facilitate international trade.
